The rapport between G and Sam is so good. how are you guys off-screen? ll and i met for the first time filming the pilot. i didn’t know what to expect and i was trying to figure out what to call him. do i call him ll or cool j or todd [his real name is james todd smith]? he told me to call him todd and we hit it off right away. he’s incredibly easy. he’s just a regular guy, very humble and accessible. people say: “you’re working with ll cool j?” and they go nuts. they want to ask questions. i listened to his music growing up, but i didn’t know him. now, i just think of him like anybody else i’d be working with. he’s a good dude. There is so much action on the show. Were you prepared for it? some of the action is just fun to break up the pattern of what you’re doing. we’ll have days on end, working on the sound stage on sets, then we get to go out and we spend time at the disney ranch where [classic us shows] the dukes of hazzard (1979-1985) and little house on the prairie (1974-194) were shot. recently we ran around with a militia group and spent all night handcuffed to a stove. we were firing guns and having a blast.
