It’s no secret that Rick Forrester (Jacob Young) doesn’t care for his half-brother Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), but he might actually be tearing his hair out at Ridge’s delaying tactics with his latest collection for Forrester’s Couture line. Ridge has been dragging his feet for so long that Rick’s had time to be creative about it. On Wednesday 23 September, Rick brings in a model wearing a white shirt to show their dad Eric (John McCook) how far Ridge’s designing is. He asks the model to turn around, only to reveal a big zero printed on the back – as in Ridge has produced zero designs. But they have no idea what Ridge is getting up to behind closed doors with Rick’s wife Caroline (Linsey Godfrey)!

GUIDING HAND

Ridge, who lost his drawing skills after a recent near-death experience, has a breakthrough when Caroline returns on Thursday 17 September. She asks him to review her designs and he realises that when he takes her hand to guide her to draw a better line, his drawing issues disappear. Thrilled and inspired, the two work together on Friday 18 September. But on his own, Ridge still can’t do anything. On Wednesday 23 September, Caroline pieces the puzzle together and Ridge tells her in confidence how Bill (Don Diamont) messed with his brain by throwing him from a helicopter back in June. Drawn in by their emotional connection over their shared passion for design, Ridge’s vulnerability and her lifelong love and admiration for his work, Caroline suggests that he work through her in secret on Thursday 24 September. “They understand each other, maybe better than some of the other characters on the show,” says Thorsten.

JEALOUS HEART

Man-hungry Maya (Karla Mosley) misses that part of the conversation but arrives in time to see the two seal the deal with a hug – a hug that this jealous temptress thinks she can use to chisel Rick away from his wife. It’s not just the greeneyed monster at work… there’s a creative spark between Ridge and Caroline. “There’s something special about their relationship. Raw and pure,” says Linsey.
