THE SECRET IS OUT!

Carol’s ditched after Matshidiso tells all

-

Matshidiso (Buhle Samuels) has no filter: she’ll say and do whatever it takes to get whatever she wants. And she’s ruthless too! Matshidiso really wants the Mojalefa mansion, but when Lerumo (John Morapama) tries to stall her on Monday 14 December, she goes in for the kill and exposes Carol’s (Phuti Khomo) paternity secret, forcing Lerumo and his son Morapedi (Rantebeng Makapan) to fight over who’ll be the unborn baby’s dad.

ROUND 1: MORAPEDI WINS

Morapedi explodes when Matshidiso goes public with the news that Carol slept with both father and son. Carol, who’s at the hospital because the baby is in distress, isn’t aware of what’s happening but Morapedi makes a beeline for her bedside on Wednesday 16 December. Says Phuti, “Morapedi was the only one who didn’t know about the baby situation. Lerumo knew and his wife Moriti (Tshidi Vera), who also knows about her husband’s cheating, promised to keep it a secret. Morapedi’s upset and Carol has to reassure him that she still loves him.” Naturally, the news unsettles their relationship and it’s more complicated now. “It won’t be the same and Morapedi has a decision to make about Carol and the baby,” adds Phuti. Lerumo arrives at the hospital and there is another argument with Morapedi, who’s certain that he’s the father as Carol trusted him to be the father.

ROUND 2: LERUMO WANTS OUT

Lerumo’s irritated and humiliated by Carol, so he does what he thinks is the right thing: to leave her alone. On Monday 21 December, Lerumo tends to his wife Moriti, who’s battling cancer (read more on p11). He tries to get everything that she needs and make what’s left of her life as comfortable as possible. His playing nurse to his sick wife makes their son Morapedi sit up and notice his mother’s deteriorating condition and he sets off to help Moriti too. While this leaves Carol on her own in hospital, it’s something that Phuti can understand. “Finding out about Moriti is difficult for Carol as she’d never wish such illness upon her, despite their fighting.”

FINAL ROUND: CAROL LOSES

While both potential babydaddies are away helping Moriti, Carol’s pregnancy hits yet another speedbump on Tuesday 22 December. Her doctor and friend Nthabeleng (Mona Monyane) reveals that there are complications and the baby isn’t responding to the medication, so Carol won’t be able to carry the baby to full term. “There are a number of things making this pregnancy difficult,” Phuti says. “Carol has to make decisions by herself – and she cannot go through this pregnancy alone.” An anxious and freaked-out Carol is told that she has to have the baby now or it might not survive. She also realises that there’s nobody around to help her. Not only are there mounting hospital bills, “she’s alone and her biggest fear is that this child will never see its father again,” Phuti adds. But who is the father?
