Baby killer

Quinn’s obstinate stalking destroys everything she loves – including Hope’s unborn baby.

-

Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer), the world’s creepiest mother-in-law, literally will not take no for an answer. If she’s not skulking outside windows in a storm with serial killer eyes, she’s disguised in nurse’s scrubs, lurking during her grandbaby’s first ultrasound scan on Wednesday 18 November. And on Tuesday 15 December, she scurries away from Hope’s (Kimberly Matula) babyshower after stealing a chunk of cake like a human honeybadger. Boundaries, Quinn! But Mommy Dearest’s pushiness is going to backfire when her harassment of Hope has its awful, inevitable consequences on Thursday 17 December.

QUINN CAN’T BE STOPPED

Everyone in Quinn’s life dreads her going even further than her standard of “too far”. Deacon (Sean Kanan) sternly warns Quinn on Friday 11 December to stay away from Hope’s babyshower because she hasn’t been invited. And on Wednesday 16 December, even Quinn’s son Wyatt (Darin Brooks) reluctantly agrees that she is dangerous after Bill (Don Diamont) makes his lawyer Justin (Aaron D Spears) draw up a restraining order. Thanks to an argument with Deacon over whether it’s necessary to go to such extremes, Wyatt doesn’t manage to serve his mom the papers in time, but we’re guessing nothing short of a shock collar could stop Quinn doing exactly as she pleases.

FALLING FOR HER

In typical Quinn fashion, Thursday 17 December sees her repeatedly refuse to back off and give Hope the space that she’s asking for because Quinn “just wants to explain”. Exhausted from continually screaming at Quinn to just leave her alone, Hope misses her footing and tumbles down the magnificent stone staircase at Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) house. The tragic fall will destroy Quinn’s grandmotherly dreams, along with Hope and Wyatt’s future.

THE BLAME GAME

Hope assures Liam (Scott Clifton) and Wyatt that Quinn didn’t touch her. But that hardly seems to matter when they find out that Hope’s baby has no heartbeat during an ultrasound scan on Friday 18 December. “Quinn was there and something bad happened. And I think that makes her responsible,” Liam tells Ivy (Ashleigh Brewer), still shaken from his own experiences of being stalked by Quinn. An anguished Deacon must tell Quinn on Tuesday 22 December that her meddling has led to his grandson’s death and asks her why she couldn’t just do as he’d asked and leave Hope alone. Crazy Quinn’s behaviour has guaranteed that no matter what the real story is, all that anyone will see when they look at her now is a baby killer.
