If it’s not cocaine, it’s Kristen! Brady Black just can’t help his addiction to trouble.
Salem, kneel before your new King Of Bad Decisions: Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). Will (Chandler Massey) knocked up his ex- girlfriend Gabi (Camila Banus) back in September, EJ (James Scott) and Rafe (Galen Gering) are still fighting over who gets to be Mr Sami (Alison Sweeney), and Bo (Peter Reckell) left his wife and daughter Hope and Ciara (Kristian Alfonso and Lauren Boles) behind in November to go fight the DiMeras – all terrible choices. But when Marlena (Deidre Hall) bursts into a room at the Salem Inn on Thursday 10 December, she may as well pop the crown on Brady’s head, because there he is, enjoying round 2 of sex with his dad John’s (Drake Hogestyn) lunatic exlover Kristen DiMera (Eileen Davidson).
CRAZY LOVE
Is Brady back on drugs? Did the mugger really hit him on the head that hard last week? “I’ve gotten a lot of input from fans saying, ‘Why is Brady so stupid?’” admits Eric. “The fact is, if you’ve ever been in love before, you’ve worn rose- coloured glasses and not seen the truth in front of you. He wants it so badly that he appears to be oblivious to what’s going on.” Brady’s addictive personality already has him so hooked on Kristen that by Monday 21 December, he’s buying her gifts and keeping her secrets.
MARLENA’S MAD
Marlena, on the other hand, knows that Kristen’s up to no good with this sleazy liaison and it’s driving her nuts! Explains Eileen of Kristen’s evil scheme: “There are a lot of scenes where John is not facing Kristen, but Marlena is. So I’m behind his back, looking at her, taunting her… and you just see steam coming out of her ears. It’s so much fun to torture her because Marlena is so smug and she just bugs Kristen. So she wants to knock her down a peg.”
Brady doesn’t see Marlena walk in, but on Friday 11 December, Kristen does. From then on, Kristen waits smugly, wondering when Marlena will tattle to John. But she might be forced to do something worse when Marlena proves unwilling to damage the father-son relationship further…
