It looks like the current season of The Good Wife (2009-current) will be its last. While not officially cancelled, showrunners Robert and Michelle King have left the show to work on upcoming political satire BrainDead. That and the fact that Good Wife star Julianna Margulies (Alicia) recently let slip “I’m unemployed come April” means that the writing is probably on the wall.
Woody Allen has snagged a controversial starlet to headline his upcoming series for Amazon: Miley Cyrus. Details are few, although we do know that it’s a six-part half-hour series set in the 1960s and that Allen himself will also act in it.
House Of Cards (2013-current) might look a lot different next year. The political drama has been renewed by Netflix for a fifth season but creator/ producer Beau Willimon is leaving. There’s a similar situation at cult Brit sci-fi series Doctor Who (2005-current) – showrunner Steven Moffat, who’s helmed the show for five seasons, is leaving at the end of the upcoming 10th. He’ll be replaced by Broadchurch (2013-current) writer Chris Chibnall.
Extant’s (2014-2015) Grace Gummer has landed a series regular role on breakout hit series Mr Robot’s (2015current) second season. She’ll play a young FBI agent investigating the Evil Corp hack who’s trying to track down the renegade “fsociety” group. While it sure looked like Jada Pinkett Smith’s Gotham (2014-current) character, crime boss Fish Mooney, died in season 1, that may not be the case – she’s confirmed to appear in multiple episodes in the second half of season 2, which returns later this month.
There’s bad news for MTV drama Finding Carter (2014-current), which has been cancelled after season 2, while crime caper Rizzoli & Isles (2010-current ) will end this year after a 13-episode season 7 and Person Of Interest (2011-current) is expected to wrap up its five-season run this year too.
FOX is rebooting hit political action series 24 (2001-current) but without series star Kiefer Sutherland as Special Agent Jack Bauer. Instead, The Walking Dead’s (2010-current) Corey Hawkins will play the lead male role of Eric Carter, a former Army Ranger who’s pulled back into
