Loveable Errol is stuck in a dangerous place… Weekdays SABC2 (*192) 18:30

Eternally single Errol (Christo Davids) met his match in cheeky Tarryn (Kay Smith) in May and it was a relationship made in soapie heaven. But her dark side is coming out and Tarryn is aggressive and emotionally unstable – and it’s going to cost Errol.

TROUBLEMAKER

Their relationship got serious almost overnight when they moved in together at the start of June. “Errol’s still blinded by love at this stage and he doesn’t realise that Tarryn is alienating him from his adoptive mom Charmaine ( Vinette Ebrahim),” Christo says. But on Wednesday 8 June, Errol’s blinkers come off when he hears Tarryn telling Pulane (Masego Sehoole) terribly tall tales, like that he’s still feeling uncomfortable around Pulane after their kiss in December 2015.

ANGER TAKES OVER

Things get worse on Thursday 9 June when Errol confronts Tarryn about what she said to Pulane. She makes up more lies, but as soon as she confesses and tries to apologise, Errol gives her the cold shoulder. He’s frustrated, says Christo. “He tries to clear his head and goes to the fridge to get something to His girlfriend Tarryn could be Errol’s undoing. eat when Tarryn slams the door on his arm.” Errol’s so shocked that he flees to hide out in Oppiekoffie, nursing his badly bruised arm. Later that day, Tarryn confronts Errol on The Heights stairs on his way back to their flat and their argument turns violent when she shoves him down the stairs.

STAY AWAY FROM ME!

Errol wakes up on Friday 12 June in a hospital bed, sporting a concussion and in pain. While Tarryn’s suddenly acting all concerned, she hasn’t told anyone about Errol. And she spins another lie later that day when Charmaine arrives, having been tipped off by the nurses – she tells Charmaine that Errol doesn’t want to see her. “Errol realises that Tarryn is obviously unstable and that he needs to get away from her as soon as possible,” reveals Christo. But that’s easier said than done. And there’s more bad news for Errol fans…

IN THE DIRECTOR’S CHAIR

Christo’s been directing episodes for the past six months and enjoys working behind the scenes so much that he’s decided to take a break from playing Errol. When we insisted on knowing if Errol will return, Christo cryptically answered: “I’m the kind of guy who does one thing at a time. A jack of all trades is a master of none.”
