Daddy dilemma
A DNA test gives Masindi the paternity answer that she’s been searching for, but there’s a twist coming…

Aspiring boxer Neo (Mpho Sebeng) grew up in Limpopo, thinking that Thabelo (Sello Motloung) is his dad. But Neo’s mom Masindi (Florence Masebe) isn’t sure – and she gets closure on Tuesday 7 June when the paternity test results come back. Turns out Neo’s new trainer Mandla (Masoja Msiza) is his dad! Seems Masindi hasn’t been entirely honest about her past…
GAME OF GENES
Neo has other problems – he’s in love with Mandla’s daughter Sli (Dineo Nchabeleng), his half-sister, although neither of them know it yet. “Masindi lived with this secret for a long time and now that the DNA test confirms the identity of Neo’s father, there will be trouble,” says Florence, adding that “Masindi’s pushed to tell Mandla because she knows that Neo loves Sli.” Mandla’s in shock after Masindi’s revelation on Wednesday 8 June and he’s also worried about the young lovers. The parental pair plot to keep their secret and at the same time make sure that Neo and Sli are kept very far apart and under supervision. STICKY SITUATION
Mandla comes up with a plan of action on Thursday 9 June: he’s going to ship his daughter off to study in KZN, far away from Joburg – and most importantly: Neo. Masindi isn’t sure how well the plan will work and Florence explains that “Mandla’s idea isn’t going to keep the two apart forever, so Masindi wants to take Neo home with her and keep him under her watchful eye”. Mandla doesn’t like Masindi’s idea but doesn’t tell her that if Neo leaves his gym, he’ll be forced to close it down – Neo is a champ in the making and a guaranteed moneymaker for Mandla, who still owes a lot of cash on his training camp.
SWITCHED AT BIRTH
But what neither Mandla nor Masindi know is that Sli’s mom Ruth (Baby Cele) is hiding a secret of her own. Turns out Sli isn’t even Mandla’s daughter! How is that possible? Turns out responsible school principal Ruth and Mandla had a baby 16 years ago but Ruth accidentally smothered the newborn to death in her sleep. A desperate Ruth swapped her dead daughter with another new mom’s baby and fled the hospital with her little “Sli”, which viewers will learn more about on Wednesday 15 June.
