DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow

Marvel’s 2012 Avengers movie is proof that viewers love superheroes teaming up against baddies. A similar scenario is taking place in rival comic book empire DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow (2016-current), which is a spin-off of sorts from Arrow (2012-current) and The Flash (2014-current). “In our minds, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow is the first modern-day superhero team-up show,” says executive producer Greg Berlanti of the 16-episode series, which has been renewed for season 2.
The premise is simple: former time master Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) is heartbroken. In the year 2166, immortal dictator Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) kills Rip’s wife and son and the only way to stop this from happening is for Rip to travel back in time and assemble a ragtag team of superheroes and villains to stop Vandal. So who’s on the team? • From Arrow, there’s science whiz Ray Palmer/Atom (Brandon Routh) and vigilante Sara Lance/ White Canary (Caity Lotz) who died and was resurrected in the magical hottub known as the Lazarus Pit. • From Flash, you’ll see nuclear physicist Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and mechanic Jefferson Jackson (Franz Drameh) who combine their bodies to make up the hero known as Firestorm. Also, there’s gun-toting Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), pyromaniac Mick Rory/ Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) who has a dark secret, Kendra Saunders/ Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée), who’s been resurrected many times and Carter Hall/Hawkman (Falk Hentschel), who is a reincarnated Egyptian prince and Kendra’s lover. Rounding off the team is Gideon, the artificial intelligence on Rip’s spaceship the Waverider that does most of the work on the ship.
