Mulalo gets the wrong idea when Shoni befriends Mulimisi.

Weekdays SABC2 (*192) 21:00

It’s been a tough couple of months for Thathe mayor Mulalo (Sydney Ramakuela). He’s been campaigning for re- election while also trying to keep his pushy wife Teboho (Liteboho Molise) happy and fight off a threat for his mayoral position from Vele (Madhuva Madima). On top of that, his mistress Shonisani (Tshinondiwa Thovhakale) has gotten close to the town’s traditional healer Mulimisi (Humbulani Tsharani), whom Mulalo detests. They’re only pals but Mulalo doesn’t know that…

GREEN-EYED MONSTER

Mulalo spots Shoni and Mulimisi chatting and laughing on Wednesday 22 June at a restaurant and immediately thinks the worst. Says Tshinondiwa, “This isn’t the first time Mulimisi and Shonisani have spoken, but it is the first time after a long time. Shonisani’s got a job helping at Mulimisi’s healer shop to occupy her time while Mulalo’s been campaigning.” Mulalo’s pushed his mistress aside since Teboho came home in March 2016, but seeing Shoni with another man ruffles his feathers.

BAD SIGNAL

It seems Mulalo’s not the only one getting the wrong message: Shoni’s friendliness is mistaken as flirting by Mulimisi and on Tuesday 28 June, he’s convinced that she’s future-wife material. “Mulimisi is falling in love and even hints to Shonisani that she’s the girl he’d marry,” says Tshinondiwa. “But Shoni isn’t into him and she just wants to be friends.” Mulalo confronts Shoni on Wednesday 29 June and she soothes his fears, reminding him that he’s “the king of her heart”. Tshinondiwa adds that “Mulalo will always have a special place is Shoni’s heart, especially since he’s the man who deflowered her [in November 2014]”.

NO CHANCE!

Mulalo’s seething as he watches Shoni and Mulimisi. While Mulalo accepts what Shoni says, he’s still wary of Mulimisi, who’s convinced more than ever on Thursday 30 June that Shoni’s into him. He’s so sure that he’s ready to make his on- off girlfriend Mpho (Azwimmbavhi Rammbuda) a thing of the past. As for Shoni, she may be having a change of heart: being friends with Mulimisi has shown her that “there are better guys out there than Mulalo,” hints Tshinondiwa. Sounds like Mulalo’s about to lose something he holds very dear…
