Divorce me… or else!

David won’t give Analine a divorce without making her suffer.

The love triangle between Analine (Rolanda Marais) and brothers David and Paul King (Antony Coleman and Justin Strydom) is coming to a close after Analine served her dodgy hubby David with divorce papers on Tuesday 21 June and moved out. But deceitful David isn’t going to give up his wife without making a profit and on Wednesday 22 June he uses her as a bargaining chip to force Paul to give up his shares in the casino.

LOVE OR MONEY?

On Tuesday 28 June, things get even messier when David and Analine’s daughter Linkie (Danielle Retief) confronts Paul and accuses her uncle of being a homewrecker. “Paul is hurt by her outburst but understands her reaction,” explains Justin. “He hopes that she will one day comprehend the complexities of the situation.” Rolanda adds that “it hurts Analine to see her daughter suffer, but she won’t be with a man who doesn’t make her happy”. David’s making a hefty demand. Justin says that Paul is furious with David for wanting to trade Analine for shares – but Paul is considering it. “He realises that he’d betray everything he stands for if he agrees to the trade, but how can he leave the woman he loves in the hands of a man who’s willing to barter her happiness for financial gain?” The brothers almost come to blows on Monday 27 June and that’s when Paul gives in. Later, David spots Analine with her arms full of shopping bags and he cautions her that her new man won’t be able to afford her lavish lifestyle in the near future… Rolanda reveals that her character is confused by David’s comments and “she goes straight to Paul’s hotel room, where he tells her about the deal he’s made with David. Bizarrely, Analine doesn’t flip out and she understands why Paul made the decision, but she is annoyed that David’s jeopardised

her happiness again”.

Analine comes up with a brilliant plan on Wednesday 29 June to make David sign old divorce papers from the beginning of the year when she first tried to leave him, which stipulates she gets half his assets. But will he sign them without checking the fine print or will he see right through Analine’s clever plan?
