Emily Osment shot to fame as Hannah Montana’s sidekick best friend in Disney tween comedy Hannah Montana (20062011). That was a stepping stone on to bigger and better things, like a lead role in thriller movie Cyberbully (2011) and as chef-turned-food blogger main character Gabi in fun sitcom Young & Hungry (2014-current).

If her name sounds familiar, that’s 1

because her brother is 28-year-old actor Haley Joel Osment, who famously played dead-people-seeing Cole Sear in paranormal movie The Sixth Sense (1999). Her mom Theresa is a teacher and her dad Eugene is an actor.

The 24-year-old started her career 2

in a TV ad for Florists’ Transworld Delivery in 1998. She was cast in 1999 comedy film The Secret Life Of Girls alongside Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor in sci-fi film The Terminator, 1984).

Hannah Montana co-star Miley Cyrus – Emily taught Miley to knit and Miley taught her to play guitar.

Miley also got Emily a guest spot 4

singing on her dad Billy Ray Cyrus’s 2007 song You’ve Got A Friend. Emily then released an EP entitled All The Right Wrongs in 2009 and full album Fight Or Flight in October 2010.

– Emily dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood in a 2001 Halloween episode of hit sitcom Friends (1994-2004).

As for her acting inspiration, she 6

says that “I remember when I saw Boogie Nights for the first time, in 1997. Julianne Moore is like a chameleon in every scene [of this oscar-nominated role]. I remember being so inspired by how real she was and how brave she was to do a role like that”.
