Sci-fi show Wayward Pines (2015current) returns with a new cast for season 2. Season 1 was meant to be a limited series and used all of the info in the books it’s based on, but the demand called for a season 2. Taking the lead in the 10-episode instalment is Jason Patric, who plays surgeon Dr Theo Yedlin and he says that “Theo questions the past, the present and has no idea what the future is”. The 50-year-old’s late dad Jason Miller played Father Karras in iconic 1973 paranormal movie The Exorcist and his mom Linda played Catherine Spages in 1976 slasher flick Alice Sweet Alice. His late granddad Jackie Gleason played Ralph Kramden in comedy series The Honeymooners (1955-1956).

He dropped his surname because 2

he didn’t want to get work based on his family name. He laughs that “growing up, I was always called Jason Patric, especially when I was bad”.

One of his best friends is fiery3

tempered Kiefer Sutherland (Jack Bauer in action show 24, 2001-2010). And that friendship could’ve been ruined because Jason started dating film star Julia Roberts (Liz in Eat Pray Love, 2010) in 1991 after Kiefer dumped her. While he jokes about it now, Jason reveals that Kiefer wasn’t the one to worry about – paparazzi were! “I knew dating Julia would be trouble. I just didn’t know how much of an impact it would have on my privacy!”

And it hasn’t got better: he split 4
