Nothing is “normal” when it comes to Rachel (Lesego Marakalla). Just ask her roommate Enhle’s (Natasha Thahane) ex-fiancé Sakhile (Nicolas Nkuna), who last year had to deal with an unstable Lelo (Amanda du-Pont) causing chaos for everyone at varsity in Joburg because Lelo was jealous of Rachel. Or chat to her homeboys Tbose and Kwaito (Cornet Mamabolo and Clement Maosa), who know just how calculating Rachel can be. Sadly for Sakhile, he’s in line for another round of Rachel-related drama this fortnight.

EMERGENCY EXIT

Rachel phones her brother Nimza (Buhle Maseko on Wednesday 20 July to warn him of an impending arrest for his crimes… and that’s when she strikes blackmail gold. Having used Kwaito’s phone to make the call, Rachel finds a video that incriminates Sakhile. “She sees the video that Kwaito and Tbose took of Sakhile doing drugs,” says Lesego. She sends the video to her phone and starts plotting.

SAY CHEESE!

Rachel’s going to use the video as a bargaining chip to get herself some much-needed money on Friday 22 July when she shows Sakhile the clip. He is stunned but nothing can prepare him for what’s next, Lesego reveals. “Rachel blackmails Sakhile with the video, saying that she needs rent money and a boyfriend – and he’s just the guy for the job!” The actress adds, “This is Rachel trying to get his attention. I don’t think that she was planning on using the video to blackmail him.”

PLAYING NICE

Big and strong Sakhile is brought down to his knees by an unrelenting Rachel. Rachel is enjoying her role as puppetmaster, pulling Sakhile’s strings on Monday 25 July and getting him to bow to her every demand. “She’s always had a crush on Sakhile, so for now she wants to get closer to him,” says Lesego. “He hates it and he feels cornered, but he knows that if he doesn’t co-operate, Rachel will use the video against him to get him fired.” But how long can Rachel keep this up? If only Sakhile could get hold of her phone and delete that video… “She’s smart enough to not let that happen,” says Lesego. “For now, he’s trapped and hating every moment!”
