AUGUST: TWO TEMPTRESSES
Yvonne battles to keep her place in Newtown and the family drama only gets juicier with the arrival of Seko’s wife Boniswa (Lusanda Mbane). Mangi stumbles across a clue that all might not be well with his marriage, while a malicious Dintle tests family loyalties between father and son, and someone in Lucas’s inner circle suspects that a naughty new alliance is forming. Gontse and Ndu are on their road to the altar at long last as Gloria and Abel (Mandla Shongwe) hash out lobola issues, but a pretty face threatens to lure Ndu off the path. Ingrid meanwhile tries to help Stokkies win back Chantal’s trust but a crisis with Garland derails his best intentions.
SEPTEMBER: SO LONG, LUCAS
Yvonne and Boni’s claws come out as they rip into one another’s pasts and reputations, Phindi tells Zinzile why she can’t go home to her husband, and Layla’s warned to keep her mouth shut after she uncovers a sordid affair. Stokkies makes a selfless sacrifice when the awkward situation with Chantal threatens her job, and Phindi unwittingly crosses a line with her new lover. Mangi gets Romeo to spy on Dintle but Romeo’s playing his own game – until he finds out that he’s been played. Mary and Lindiwe tattle to Gontse after spying on Ndu, while the guns come out during a family confrontation after a desperate woman makes a rape accusation. Layla is left to clean up the mess after Lucas’s last desperate days in Newtown, and Dintle makes an uncomfortable discovery.
OCTOBER: BACK FROM THE GRAVE
Quinton’s on the war path after Romeo shows him an incriminating video, and fear, suspicion and a thirst for vengeance arise when someone supposedly dead returns from the grave looking to make a family connection. Gontse and Ndu’s wedding day arrives, but mother-in-law trouble looms as Zinzile uncovers a jaw-dropping secret, and Tsatsi proves herself a true friend when Gloria takes on Abel’s wife. Elsewhere, Lerumo wonders whether there was foul play involved in his mom’s death, while Stokkies is in seventh heaven thanks to a kiss. Later, Scelo sets his feet on a career path that suits him, only to have his ego cut down to size.
