AUGUST: LOSING THE BABY
Busi’s furious with Jakes for losing Moby as a casino client, Ben and Tallulah have an argument about the birth arrangements, and Paul and Analine make plans for their future. Jakes’s altercation with Moby’s bodyguard has given him hero status among the staff, while Denton reaches out to Paul again. Analine tries to get Ben and David to make peace but they’re too stubborn, and Paul decides to testify at Denton’s parole hearing. Tallulah falls ill at her and Ben’s engagement party, while Linkie returns home from school and David suspects that she’s hiding something. Tallulah tries to keep her miscarriage a secret from Ben, and Analine and David are angered by Linkie’s rebelliousness. Kenny helps Tallulah keep up appearances, while David is suspicious about Tallulah and almost learns her secret, so she asks Ben to move up their wedding date. Mhambi later points out to Busi that Busi hasn’t dealt with her feelings for Paul yet.

A new casino dealer named Vikash (Kaseran Pillay) is hired and quickly bonds with Paul, while Thandi and Busi get a look at their bridesmaid dresses and they’re not what they’d expected. Vikash gives Paul advice on how to handle a difficult Busi, and Tallulah tries to get her doctor to play along with her false pregnancy plan. Analine and David’s divorce is finalised, Jakes arrives for a meeting with Busi, and Ben sees something in Paul and Analine’s relationship that he’s missing with Tallulah. Jakes and Denton collaborate on a new scheme, and Kenny tries to stop Thandi from exposing Tallulah’s charade. Vikash has his eyes on new bartender AJ (Sive Mabuya), and Esme hears distressing news from Kenny.
