Getty (Andisiwe Dweba) falls for her best friend in a heartbeat following former rich kid Wandile’s (Chi Mhende) fight for her honour on Tuesday 30 August. “She feels protected. It pulls her to him,” says Chi. “The fact that Wandile has sacrificed being beaten up to protect her makes her feel warm. Someone is loving and respecting her.” But is Wandile ready to catch Getty as she falls for him?

LOCKING LIPS

Wandile’s going about his life after his heroic effort and is caught by surprise when Getty makes a bold move on him on Thursday 1 September. “He’s surprised when Getty kisses him,” says Chi. “He has been oblivious to her affectionate behaviour and stares until now.” Despite his astonishment, Wandile isn’t opposed to taking things further than friendship and on Tuesday 6 September, he and Getty talk about making things official. “When Getty starts to feel like Wandile isn’t reciprocating, he feels guilty because she’s his only friend right now,” Chi adds.

NEXT LEVEL LOVE

By Friday 9 September, Getty is so over- joyed by her new love, she’s ready for the next step of their relationship – getting intimate. But Wandile isn’t so sure about that… yet. “He is freaked out in the beginning and doesn’t know what to do. For Wandile, sex has always been for stress relief, but now there are feelings involved and he cares about this person. He keeps telling Getty he respects her and that’s why he’s taking things slow, but she wonders where the player in the Wandie she knows has gone,” says Chi. “The truth is, because her family helped him get on his feet and they treat him as one of their own, it’s almost incestuous in his eyes.”

UNDERCOVER LOVER

Because he protects her, Getty agrees to take baby steps and even keep their relationship a secret on Tuesday 13 September. “Wandile doesn’t want his happiness compromised. Now that he has to commit, it scares him. I don’t think he’s aware of how he feels,” Chi says.
