It was a matter of time before Suffo (Mduduzi Mabaso) discovered that his wives Puleng and Niki (Tebogo Khalo and Nolo Phiri) have been sleeping with his brother Themba (Sphamandla Dhludhlu). But when the men disappear on Thursday 1 September, the ladies scramble over who’s backstabbed who. Turns out Puleng’s secret is safe (for now!) while Niki is in trouble. “Niki knows that Suffo may kill her, so she’s hoping he found out about Puleng instead,” says Nolo.

TOO MANY MINDGAMES

Tensions flare on Friday 2 September when the wives realise that Suffo and Themba are gone. “They begin backand-forth accusations about whose affair will be revealed,” Nolo explains. “They talk about backing each other when Suffo returns to avoid either being punished or exposed.” But paranoid Niki thinks that Puleng may have ratted her out, says Nolo: “Puleng has always been a threat and she stands to benefit more by being the only wife”.

EXPOSED ADULTERY

On Monday 5 September, Kop (Setlabi Taunyane) reveals that he witnessed the brothers fighting in the yard and heard them speaking of betrayal. “Niki distrusts Puleng even more,” says Nolo, and on Thursday 8 September, Puleng’s mother Cuba (Magi Noninzi Williams) and Suffo’s aunt Ntombizodwa (Deli Malinga) try to reach an understanding with Niki, who’s ready to tell Suffo about Puleng’s affair when he returns. But she may not remain calm for long when she finds out who exposed her affair and threatened her marriage…

FAMILY FIRST

Themba’s in the firing line too. Puleng realises on Friday 9 September that Niki’s brother Bash (Siphiwe Mtshali) let slip about Themba and Niki, but before Niki has time to panic, she gets a message from Suffo – he’ll be home soon and it sounds like he’s not angry! But Suffo’s calmness is a ruse. “The loving message is to keep Niki there but she doesn’t know that. Instead, Niki relaxes and gloats,” says Nolo. Suffo’s return on Tuesday 13 September isn’t a happy reunion though… “Suffo drives her to a remote location blindfolded and strips her of everything she owns, telling her never to come back if she wants to stay alive. She’s terrified,” says Nolo. But will she stay away and risk her life to see her child again? “She just wants access to baby Busi (Thabo Ntshubela), but she know what Suffo is capable of…”
