Steven Hall is one of the new contestants going nude on Naked And Afraid XL. Season 2 Tuesdays (from 4 October) Discovery Channel (*121) 21:00

If you thought that bundu-bashing reality TV contest Survivor (2000current) was tough, try doing it without clothes! Naked And Afraid XL (2015- current) returns with new 12 contestants leaving their homes (and clothes) in the US for the wilds of KwaZulu-Natal. Professional artist Steven Hall found his time in South Africa challenging but certainly worth another go, just not anytime soon, reveals the 32-year-old contestant from season 2…

What made you want to be on a show like Naked And Afraid XL? It was something that I wouldn’t pass up ever. It was an opportunity to do something that nobody gets to do. I also did it in the most ancient, evolved part of Earth – it’s the origin of life. So you’ve got to be able to experience something like that, an adventure that people would pay thousands of dollars to do. How would you describe the experience filming in South Africa? Between the crazy African sun, drought, thorns, heat and animals that literally want to eat you, it was absolutely intense. There was never a dull moment. You always have to be on guard. Everything in Africa wants a piece of you in some way and it’s a challenge. What were the most challenging parts and what was the best part? The daily chores are the exhausting part. It makes the entire challenge just exhausting and difficult. You can’t prepare yourself enough until you’re in it. The best parts were the wildlife, conquering challenges, putting food on the table for other people and catching fish. Putting in extra effort and it paying off is something that you never forget. And would you do it again? Right now, since I just got back, absolutely not! But it’s a trip of a lifetime and life is a journey and you know, it depends on the situation and the time. But I love adventure and I love spontaneity and I love new and awesome obstacles and hard work.
