Wandile’s friend Elam (Kagiso Rathebe) plays a role in him coming into his own when, on Thursday 27 October, he warns Wandile about the cost of living a lie. “Wandile is very rude to Elam initially, as he is to everyone, but as Elam refuses to give up on him, Wandile is forced to open up to the only person who cares about and understands his situation.”

On Friday 4 November, Wandile officially comes out to the Diales as transsexual. “Elam and Dr Watson urge him to reach out towards some level of support structure,” Chi explains. But how will his ex’s family react to the news that Wandile believes he was born in the wrong body? And after what the Alex community did to Adze (Daniel Effiong) earlier this year for being a foreign national living among them and “stealing” their jobs and women, Wandile had better prepare for the worst.
