The other woman

Are Gizara and Hangwani heading for marital heartache?

-

Sly Serithi is out for revenge on Gizara and his family. Weekdays SABC2 (*192) 21:00

Getting to the altar in November last year was a long, arduous path for Hangwani and Gizara (Constance Sibiya and David Sebe). A year later and their joyous celebration is but a memory as cracks in their marriage are showing. And it seems Gizara’s exgirlfriend Serithi (Molobane Mbatha) is to blame for the strife.

THINGS FALL APART

Thursday 13 October sees the couple lashing out at one another over Hangwani’s daughter Rendani (Innocentia Makapila) and her 23 September car crash, ending with Hangwani accusing Gizara of communicating with his ex. As Constance explains, “They’re mad at each other for things that are out of their control, like the car accident and Serithi suddenly making an appearance in Joburg.” Through flashbacks, audiences will see that Serithi and Gizara weren’t just dating in college – they were expecting a child too! But the Mukwevho elders demanded Serithi get an abortion and she fled Venda. Years later, the scorned woman saw her chance to get back at the Mukwevhos by marrying their business rival Lerumo (John Morapama) who was killed in a car accident in August 2016. The happy days seem to be over for Gizara and his wife Hangwani.

DINNER FOR TWO

On Friday 14 October, Gizara has dinner with Serithi as he tries to find out what she’s up to and why she wed Lerumo. Gizara’s certain that Serithi has another agenda – like revenge on his family for forcing her to get an abortion – but Serithi remains tight-lipped, instead lying to Gizara and giving him a false sense of security.

THE OTHER WOMAN

Hangwani fears the worst on Monday 17 October, that her hubby is having an affair (that’s without even knowing about his dinner with Serithi) and having to worry about Rendani too has made her “emotional”, says Constance. And those emotions blow up on Thursday 20 October when Hangwani sees Serithi in town – she looks to be doing something shady, which worries Hangwani and makes Gizara’s wife determined to drive Serithi out of Joburg, convinced that Serithi is “a cheating, lying woman”. Join the line, Hangwani, because you aren’t the only lady eager for meddling Serithi to leave…
