Blood brothers

Gadaffi proves his loyalty to Tau – with a bullet.

Bullets fly when Gadaffi and Tau get caught in trouble in Angola. Weekdays SABC1 (*191) 20:00

If audiences thought that losing his son and the demise of his marriage was the end of criminal Gadaffi ( Vuyo Dabula), you’re mistaken. When his “brother” Tau (Rapulana Seiphemo) needs a hero, Gadaffi is more than willing to step up on Wednesday 26 October. Gadaffi has nothing left to lose, which prompts his shockingly destructive decision that leads to mixed reactions from both his ex-wife Tshidi (Letoya Makhene) and her brother Tau.

GUESS WHO’S BACK?

When gangster Jack (Vusi Kunene) refuses to help Tau out of a tight spot on Wednesday 26 October, Tau turns to the man who committed the ultimate betrayal. When Gadaffi left town in September after a breakdown, no one knew if he’d return. Tshidi and Tau didn’t care, but with his past in Angola coming back to haunt him, Tau needs reinforcements. Gadaffi’s happy to help to get back in Tau’s good books after it was revealed he’d stolen Tau’s child Thapelo (Noluthando Nxumalo) to raise his and Tshidi’s son Amo. Tau and wife Karabo (Connie Ferguson) found out in August and cut them off .

BEYOND BORDERS

On Friday 28 October, Gadaffi goes to Angola with Tau to sort out a diamond deal gone wrong from Tau’s time there in June. “Gadaffi knows he was in the wrong and that’s why their relationship went sour, so this is a way to reconciliation,” says Vuyo. “They warm up to each other because of their common goal, but there are still trust issues.” When things go south, Gadaffi leaps in front of a bullet aimed at Tau. “They’ve come a long way and this shows his loyalty.”

SHAKE ON IT

Things change after Gadaffi saves Tau. “Tau appreciates what Gadaffi did for him, but Tshidi is annoyed that Gadaffi is back in their lives. She is with Jack and has moved on – now she has to see Gadaffi more often after their divorce because of her brother Tau,” he says. But after surviving a bullet, Gadaffi isn’t about to watch the woman he loves slip through his fingers on Monday 7 November. “His reconciliation with Tau means he and Tshidi can both be in Amo’s life again, so why not do it together?” teases Vuyo.
