Titus (Daniel Hadebe) has just had his cover blown by his mom May (Tina Jaxa), who he was trying to hide from by faking his death. As he tries to get May off his back, Titus is also dealing with matters of the heart, but what’s the real reason Titus suddenly wants to get hitched and is May ready to lose her newly found son to another woman?

MOMMY ISSUES

May was overjoyed on Monday 24 October when she learnt that her son Credo was all grown up, alive and living undercover as Titus in Soweto. She recognised his voice from another room and he was mortified that she wanted to make up with the son she’d lost all those years ago while he was working in the mines. “Titus and May’s relationship isn’t good because Titus doesn’t want his mother or the family around at all,” says Daniel. “He would do anything for them to leave and he even offers them money as long as they stay far away from him. He’s got a new life and a lot of things that are going on for Titus are illegal. He has been successful and he doesn’t want his family involved in his business, least of all his mother who thought that he was dead until recently.”

FAMILY MATTERS

Despite all the drama with May, Titus finds time to pop the question to his girlfriend Cat (Matshep Maleme) on Thursday 27 October. But not for the reasons anyone, including his new fiancée, thinks. “The only reason he proposes isn’t about anything else but needing a sense of stability. Remember, Titus doesn’t trust anyone, so it’s purely based on the need to have family for whatever empire he’s working on so he can have some sort of a legacy,” Daniel reveals. But what about May and the Gumedes – his actual family? They are the last thing on his mind.

MAMA’S BOY

May won’t be scared off easily. On Friday 28 October, Titus and Cat make it clear to May that she’s not welcome in their lives. “May wants to be in Titus’s life but Cat goes all out to get rid of her, including making May feel unwanted in Titus’s life in ways that may shock viewers.” And it’s something that Titus supports, says Daniel. But May’s done playing nice and on Wednesday 2 November, she issues her son a shocking ultimatum…
