Detective Villa and Rosewood are fighting crime and love again.
Rosewood Season 2 Mondays (from 14 November) Universal Channel (*117) 20:50
Superstar pathologist Dr Beaumont “Rosie” Rosewood Jr and Detective Annalise Villa (Morris Chestnut and Jaina Lee Ortiz) are bringing new faces and more arrests to season 2 of action crime show Rosewood (2015- current). Episode 1 is going to follow on from the season 1 cliffhanger, where Rosie suspected that Villa’s late hubby didn’t die of natural causes, but what is going to happen to the pair’s hot love that they just can’t see all the way through? Seems that it’s going to be turned down a notch to simmer setting, because Rosie is getting a love interest among the other characters who’re moving to Miami…
CLUED UP ON CHARACTERS
There’s a tough new boss at the Miami PD as Ryan Slade (Eddie Cibrian, himself in reality show LeAnn & Eddie, 2014) takes over from Captain Hornstock (Domenick Lombardozzi), who quit in the season 1 finale in July and is now a detective. Ryan’s going to bump heads with Villa… to start with.
Need to know: Ryan was going to be named Aaron and be played by Brian Austin Green but he dropped out halfway through filming the season opener. Waitress Tawnya (singer LeToya Luckett, who was an original member of pop group Destiny’s Child) catches Rosewood’s eye at the end of episode 4 (5 December) when a patron causes a scene at the restaurant where Rosie and Villa are having drinks.
Need to know: Tawnya’s got a daughter named Kayla (Camille Spirlin from sitcom Marvin Marvin, 2012-2013) and she’s going to give Rosie a tough time until she’s sure that he’s good enough for her mom. And while he had a couple of guest appearances as rival pathologist Mitchie
Mendelson in season 1, Sam Huntington (werewolf Josh in the US version of sci-fi show Being Human, 2011-2014) is joining full-time now.
Need to know: Mitchie is taking over as Rosie’s forensic lab analyst after Rosie’s sister Pippy (Gabrielle Dennis) left and restarted her singing career. But will Mitchie stay on when Pippy finds her way back in episode 4?
Villa and Rosie’s love is taking a back seat.
