Chief Azwindini is ready to propose to Mulimisi’s ex.
Chief Azwindini (Gabriel Temudzani) wants to add to his house full of wives with beautiful princess Mpho (Azwimmbavhi Rammbuda). He met her when she and Rendani (Innocentia Makapila) visited Thathe in September 2016 after Rendani’s car crash. And while Mpho’s no stranger to the kingdom, there is a problem that will block the chief’s proposal: traditional healer Mulimisi (Humbulani Tsharani). He’s had an on- off relationship with Mpho and he’s not ready to lose her to Azwindini.
FUTURE WORRIES
Before Tuesday 29 November, Azwindini has no clue about Mpho and Mulimisi and he’s surprised when elders Gizara and Vho-Masindi (David Sebe and Regina Nesengani) tell him. “It’s unheard of for a chief to want to date his protector’s ex- girlfriend,” Gabriel reveals. “I call Mulimisi a ‘protector’ because that is his job, to take care of the royal house and to please the ancestors.” Gizara and Masindi don’t favour Azwindini’s choice, but he isn’t going to listen to them, nor to Mulimisi’s pleas to leave Mpho. Gabriel adds that “Azwindini’s thinking of his future. His wife Susan (Mahumela Mahuwa) is pregnant and if she dies, as the doctors have warned, the chief will need someone to care for him and his newborn.”
FRIENDS OR FOES?
Mulimisi won’t be fobbed off and on Wednesday 30 November he argues with Azwindini. But then he has an epiphany, says Humbulani: “Viewers must expect drama – the chief has angered his traditional healer. Fans might want Mulimisi to do something evil to get revenge, but he isn’t going down that route. Mulimisi makes peace with his chief’s decision.” But as Mulimisi is coming to terms with letting Mpho go, it turns out Azwindini has someone else to deal with…
NEW GIRL FIRST
Azwindini’s eldest son Mulondo (Ndamulelo Mbuwe) has taken exception to his dad’s newest conquest and on Monday 5 December, he interrogates his dad. “Mulondo challenges Azwindini about how he’s exposing himself in front of the family, chasing after a young girl while his pregnant wife [and Mulondo’s mother] Susan is suffering terribly and is possibly about to die,” explains Gabriel. But while that doesn’t stop Azwindini’s proposal on Tuesday 6 December, more is on the way, teases Gabriel. “Expect action, blackmail and an outpouring of emotions when Mpho accepts Azwindini’s proposal.”
