Hmm… nice suit, good haircut, can afford a long term stay at The Newtonian – there’s probably a nice fat wallet attached to this Damon Bradbury (Craig Urbani). And Yvonne Thebe (Kgomotso Christopher) never lets the possibility of a fast buck slip by her. But when she suggests to her partner-in- crime Neo Mokheti (Jerry Mofokeng) that he targets Damon for a shakedown on Wednesday 7 December, she’s not expecting to be the tool he uses to do it. And soon Damon isn’t the only man she has caught in her clutches. Yvonne just can’t help being fabulous! When Damon doesn’t nibble at Neo’s initial offers, he decides that he can catch more flies – and guys – with honey and Yvonne is the sweetest little honey pot that Neo knows. Neo’s proposal is a bit of a shock for Yvonne on Wednesday 14 December though. “Their work arrangement is quite new and that was never part of the deal,” says Kgomotso. “It’s a tricky one because she does still owe Neo. She doesn’t want to destroy that relationship or that income stream.” And financial considerations aside, something about the idea excites Yvonne. “She is used to doing crazy things and she’s always pushing the edge. That’s part of the reason that they get along and that this partnership works so well, because they will do anything to hustle.”
When Yvonne approaches Damon on Thursday 15 December, she’s not playing prostitute to Neo’s pimp.
