Nicole Avant’s (Reign Edwards) pregnancy is progressing as expected, with a couple of hiccups along the way for her romance with Zende (Rome Flynn) – like when she has to cancel a date thanks to morning sickness on Thursday 29 December. Zende is doing his best to keep a healthy attitude about Nicole carrying her sister Maya’s (Karla Mosley) baby, but someone’s about to barge into their lives to test his dedication: Nicole’s sexy bestie Sasha (Felisha Cooper). “It has been so much fun working with Reign and Rome, I almost hate that Sasha has come between them,” laughs Felisha. But Zende isn’t the only guy that Sasha is going to be causing trouble for – Nicole and Maya’s dad Julius (Obba Babatunde) doesn’t share his family’s joy when Sasha gets in touch on Tuesday 3 January…

“I just don’t want a parade of people from back home showing up because they know Maya has money,” Julius grumbles to his wife Vivienne (Anna Maria Horsford). It’s an odd reaction considering that Vivienne calls Sasha “practically family”. But the moment Vivienne steps out of their motel room, leaving Sasha alone with Julius, the gloves come off and Julius asks Sasha directly what she’s after. “It’s simple. I kept your secret. Now I want something in return,” Sasha hints. When Julius refuses to give her a lift up the social ladder, Sasha asks, “Don’t want to drag inconvenient ghosts from the past into your cushy new life, Mr Avant?” Cornered, Julius gives in but warns Sasha bluntly, “Our deal remains. Not one word to my family.” So just what is Julius hiding?
