Rowan Atkinson gets serious as a French detective in mini-series Maigret.

Comedian Rowan Atkinson is best known for his goofy character Mr Bean (1990-1995), but he’s got a love for action and drama. And he’s showing that off in new mini-series Maigret (2016- current). He plays Chief Inspector Jules Maigret in the two-episode first season and Jules has a huge task in front of him. He needs to find a serial killer before they strike again and the only clue he has is that his killer likes women with dark hair.

The series is based on the fictional detective character by Belgian novelist Georges Simenon (1903-1989) and the episodes are more like mini movies – they’re 90 minutes long each.
