Jack with no trades

Tau takes revenge on his enemy Jack by betraying the Morokas and snatching a business deal from them.

-

Power-hungry businessman Tau’s (Rapulana Seiphemo) year is off to a great start on the work front. After being booted from the Moroka family following his divorce from Karabo (Connie Ferguson), he’s made up for that loss by getting his foot in the door of an exciting new building project – at the expense of his business rival Jack Mabaso ( Vusi Kunene). Tau’s new investor partners Muzi and Thabo (Khotso Rammopo and Lethu Mlonzi) put a smile on his face on Friday 20 January when they give him access to the JM Eco City. “Tau isn’t afraid to take on Jack. [On Monday 23 January], they go head-tohead like two bulls locked in a kraal together,” says Generations publicist Gaaratwe Mokhethi.

TASTE OF REVENGE

The respectable Moroka name attracts money and power and gives a confident businessman like Tau influence. But now that he’s no longer in the family, the red mist sets in and his greed sees him plot revenge. “Tau represented the Morokas in business before, but now his alliance with Muzi and Thabo means that he has support,” she says. “Tau wants to start his own legacy that the Morokas aren’t part of and he wants to have the final say in JM Eco City.”

FALL FROM POWER

Jack is unaware of the impending attack because he has another problem to worry about. He loves to be in control and have power, but he also doesn’t have the money to build JM Eco. That’s the opening that Tau and his new partners have been waiting for, as well as Tau’s former nephew Smanga (Moopi Mothibeli), who’s been roped into their scheme.

“If the building isn’t finished on time, it will be sold,” says Gaaratwe and that’s exactly what Jack’s enemies are banking on. Tau tells Jack and the other investors on Monday 23 January that they might launch JM Eco in different sections to make a profit and not as a whole, which Jack isn’t happy about. It dawns upon Jack in the meeting that his dreams are going down the drain – he has a history of corruption and the other investors don’t trust him. Plus, he blackmailed Smanga in December 2016 to get the investors onboard for the project using his political links as a bribe and if the banks review his financials at the moment, everyone will pull out of the Eco City.

THE TAKE OVER

Tau and his sidekick Smanga have both been cast out by the Moroka family and the men are determined to have their own legacy. They’re not going to let their former family stand in their way, including Mazwi (Musa Ngema). He’s the eldest Moroka grandson and was assigned as the heir to the family business – that’s painted a target on his back for Tau and Smanga. Just wait until Mazwi and Jack find out that their investors have been bought and JM Eco City is no longer theirs!
