Baby battle
A catfight erupts when Sibahle uncovers Smangele’s pregnancy secret.

Sibahle (Londeka Mlaba) is in for the shock of her life on Wednesday 18 January when she walks in on her lover Ayanda’s (Kay Sibiya) pregnant wife Smangele (Sihle Ndaba) in the bathroom and, unknown to Smangele, sees her drop her fake baby belly. “She is traumatised, angry and surprised because she trusted Smangele, even though she didn’t like her, and she respected the fact that she was pregnant,” reveals Londeka. Her shock soon turns to joy though. “This she cannot believe. Sibahle has just found a way to get her man back!” But she hasn’t counted on how manipulative Smangele can be when she’s desperate…
BABY BELLY BEATDOWN
When Ayanda thinks that Sibahle’s just being crazy jealous on Monday 23 January, Sibahle tries to prove her point by stripping Smangele’s clothes right off her body on Wednesday 25 January, leading to an epic fight. Sihle laughs and tells us, “It was fun because at the time I was wearing the fake belly and the human brain is such a special thing – the first thing on my mind as it was happening was protect the baby,
even though there was no baby. But it was emotionally taxing because I’m not really confrontational like that, I’d rather run away.” And when Ayanda walks on the fight, Smangele clutches her belly claiming there’s something wrong with the baby, putting Sibahle in a tight spot.
BIRTHDAY BOY
Before Ayanda can investigate further, Smangele vanishes on Monday 30 January after getting word that Buhle (Lihle Shoba), the woman who’s baby she’s secretly adopting, has gone into labour. The next thing Ayanda knows, he’s getting a phonecall from the hospital because he’s about to become a father. And when he and Smangele’s brother Mastermind (Ntokozo Dlamini) arrive at her ward on Tuesday 31 January, they see Smangele in bed, holding “her” baby son. Ta- dah! “It’s so bittersweet, because in all honesty, she wants to give this baby a better chance than Buhle would have been able to, but the way she goes about it is bad,” admits Sihle.
