The knives are out
Vince and Bonita are coming for Chris and Mariaan.

The deli has barely been closed for two weeks and businessman Chris (David Rees) has already taken over the shop and opened Beleef, his very own “food emporium”. Ex deli boss Vince (Jacques Blignaut) is still fuming, convinced that Chris ruined his business but he has no proof. But the real slap in the face comes from Beleef – they’re selling the exact same “exclusive” food that Vince had made and that pushes both him and his wife Bonita (Hildegardt Whites) too far.
TICKING TIMEBOMB
“Chris never sits still and he’s always looking to expand his business interests,” explains David. “It’s no secret that he has no time for Vince, more so because Vince won’t back down and will get in Chris’s face. Should he ever find out that Chris really was behind the deli’s demise, there will be fireworks,” David adds.
Chris should actually worry more about Bonita though – she’s far more of a pitbull than her hubby and she’s just as furious as Vince about losing the deli. But rather than take on Chris, Bonita finds an easier target: his wife Mariaan (Deirdre Wolhuter). Bonita’s coming for her guns blazing – on Tuesday 17 January, Bonita’s sisterin-law Vanessa (Ingrid Paulus) told her that she used to babysit the Welmans’ children years earlier and found out that Mariaan had had an affair with Frank (Albert Maritz) – the same guy she was seeing on the sly in November 2016, which caused the drama in her marriage last year. Bonita heads to confront Mariaan on Thursday 19 January and after Mariaan admits everything, Bonita orders her to get Chris to give Vince 50% shares in Beleef. If not, Bonita will tell Chris about Mariaan’s first affair with Frank…
PYROMANIAC PROBLEM
Mariaan doesn’t give in to Bonita’s demands or threats easily and their back-and-forth catfight gets so bad that no one is paying much attention to Vince on Friday 27 January. Disgruntled, he sees only one way out of his situation: striking back at Chris where it will hurt – by making him lose money. Later on Friday 27 January, Vince sneaks into Beleef carrying a can full of petrol and arson on his mind.
