Lindiwe plots to escape the Sunnyhill Mental Institution but runs into interference from Patjutju. Mxolisi tries to get the choir back together, and Zandile bonds with Advocate Zulu (Luthuli Dlamini) and they’re soon head over heels for one another… until Melusi Mdletshe (Glen Gabela) returns. Elsewhere, Ayanda makes a devastating announcement about Baby Nkosinathi’s paternity, forcing Smangele to secretly admit to Ayanda that she’s not really Baby Nkosinathi’s mother. An attractive stranger named Nkunzebovu “Nkunzi” Mhlongo (Masoja Msiza) sets KwaMashu buzzing when he buys the shisanyama and visits Lindiwe in Sunnyhill because he wants to buy her house, and Lindiwe is warned that Nosipho’s life is in danger.
MARCH
Mastermind finds out that Sbu (Simphiwe Majozi) is back in KwaMashu, while Nkunzi invites Nosipho to stay in the Xulu house with his family. Melusi asks Advocate Zulu to help him to mend fences with Zandile, and Advocate Zulu asks Zandile to leave KwaMashu with him. Mondli warns Captain Mthimkhulu that Nkunzi isn’t what he seems, and Lindiwe overdoses after her latest escape plan fails, then she vanishes in a fire at Sunnyhill. The case against Lindiwe is thrown out of court, and Nosipho is shocked to see Lindiwe on Nkunzi’s arm. Pastor Mdletshe starts dating Hlengiwe but she’s in for a rude awakening.
The gossipmongers have plenty to talk about when Nkunzi’s wife Innocentia (Sthandwa Nzuza), daughter Zekhethelo (Nyalleng Thibedi) and son Qabanga (the role hasn’t been cast yet) move in. Zandile and Melusi Mdletshe renew their vows, and Mxolisi asks Zekhethelo out. Amos (Ernest Msibi) sinks his claws into Nosipho, and Nkunzi takes Lindiwe home to stay with his family but Innocentia changes his mind with a trick. Melusi’s forced to tell Zandile about his fling with Hlengiwe, and Sbu has weapons for Nkunzi, who takes Mastermind under his wing. Pastor Dlamini (Bongumusa Dlamini) is back in KwaMashu, Mondli works an ATM bombing case, and Pastor Mdletshe and Nkunzi ask Mxolisi to give youth work at the panelbeaters.
