Natalya’s kicking butt and taking titles in the WWE ring, while back at home the 34-year-old is a fan favourite on reality show Total Divas (2013-current). “This show is real – our fans see scripted stuff in the ring but this is our chance to show that we’re real people,” she says.
But don’t expect to see Natty’s 1
wrestler hubby TJ Wilson (36) in season 6 – the WWE banned him from the show while his career is still undecided following a neck injury in 2015.
The pair got hitched in 2013 after 2
12 years of dating – they met at Natalya’s late grampa Stu’s famous Hart Dungeon training camp in 2001. Natalya is still the only female graduate to date.
Wrestling isn’t the only “fighting” 3
style that she enjoys though – she trains with mixed martial arts stars like Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, as well as doing crossfit.
And don’t think she got her job 4
because of her Superstar dad Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart and uncles Brett and Owen Hart (who died in an in-ring accident in 1999). Natalya worked the indie scene for seven years before she was hired by the WWE in 2007 and she actually started her career as an in-ring announcer in 2000 for Eric Bischoff’s MatRats company.
Natty colours her hair every two 5
weeks and gets weekly manicures, but she has another secret for looking good – “A great dentist,” she laughs. In October 2016, she had her front teeth kicked out in a non-televised match against Alexa Bliss and Carmella.
She calls herself “a crazy cat lady” 6
and in 2015 she and TJ fostered 18 cats. Their own cats were part of their divorce talks in 2015 but they’ve reconciled since. NB! See more on p39.
