Grey’s Anatomy

Season 13 M-Net (*101) 19:30 Drama

Medical drama series Grey’s Anatomy (2005-current) is back from Monday 6 February, along with our favourite doctors who start episode 10 behind bars. But fear not: the medical professionals from Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital aren’t in tjookie for misconduct – Dr Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) has been called to a maximum-security prison for an inmate who can’t go to regular hospital “because she’s that dangerous,” Jessica explains. Arizona takes doctors Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Wilson (Camilla Luddington) but “it’s still the creepiest thing for them to be at the slammer.” Here’s what can be expected from the show’s return…

Dr Karev (Justin Chambers) could end up in prison for his jealous attack on DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) in season 12 (2015). The November mid-season finale (episode 9) saw Karev deciding on taking a plea deal with a two-year sentence, which would mean he’d lose his medical licence. If he doesn’t and goes to trial, Karen might expose Jo’s [Dr Wilson] secret: she has a fake identity and is on the run from her abusive husband. “When I read the script for this episode, I was terrified,” admits Camilla. To complicate things more, she hints that Jo’s husband will also make his appearance in this season.

At least series creator Shonda Rhimes has some good news for fans of April and Jackson (Sarah Drew and Jesse Williams). “There’s one episode airing later dedicated to them. It’s already labelled #JapriltheMovie,” Shonda jokes. There will also be the introduction to Jackson’s father (the role is still to be cast) and someone could be fired – trailers for the season return show Dr Bailey saying, “You’re suspended. Effective immediately!”
