FEBRUARY
Kop isn’t pleased when his old pal and ex-convict Gumede (Dominic Fundam) arrives on his doorstep begging his son Emmanuel, who lives with the Khuses, to start a new life together down in KwaZulu-Natal. An adamant Gumede isn’t going to leave without his son, and Nox is plotting a new getrich- quick scheme and talks her secret boyfriend Bash into murdering her husband Dan (Phillip Molepo) to cash in on the life insurance. Bash can’t pull the trigger, and Niki and Toolkit’s friendship strengthens but Niki’s brother Bash doesn’t trust Toolkit’s intentions with his sister.
Emmanuel tells his father Gumede that he doesn’t believe Gumede wrote him letters when he was in prison but a guilty Kop confesses that he’s been hiding the letters from Emmanuel to protect the boy from his dad’s past. An angry Roberto loses his cool with his wife Flavia when she doesn’t keep her promise to murder their business associate David, and Bash’s attempt to shoot Dan goes horribly wrong and Bash is shot instead.
MARCH
Emmanuel is scared to read Gumede’s prison letters, and Bash is heartbroken when his girlfriend Nox doesn’t protect him from the cops. Bash learns that Nox has framed him for murdering her husband Dan, and Kop’s neighbours are surprised when Cuba takes an interest in him. Puleng warns her mom Cuba to stay from Kop, and Gumede and Emmanuel are rebuilding their broken father-son relationship.
Suffocate and his ex-wife Niki are bonding, and later Reneilwe and Niki go to the police to try clear Bash’s name. Niki asks Suffo to befriend Nox and get her to reveal the truth about Bash, and a disheartened Renei’s friendship with Bash ends and her music tour is cancelled. Elsewhere, Nox is excited when she gets word that Dan’s insurance money is being paid, and a suspicious Suffocate wants to prove that Niki and his friend Toolkit are an item. Lungile tells Bongi that she should record another album, and Toolkit is irritated and ends his relationship with Niki when she can’t choose between him and Suffocate.
