Season 21 Vuzu AMP (*103) 18:30 Reality

Reality dating supershow The Bachelor’s (2002-current) season 21 kicks off today and when it comes to love, no one knows better than new bachelor Nick Viall that persistence is key. The former ex-sales exec isn’t new to the reality TV world though; the 36-year-old was runner-up twice in The Bachelor spin-off show The Bachelorette (2003-current) – in season 10 and 11 in 2014 and 2015. “I have a track record,” laughs Nick, who is dishing out the roses in his new role. “Having done this [gameshow] before, I know that it’s not going to be like reallife dating. But I’m excited at the possibility of meeting someone special.”

He’s always wanted to be in front 1

of the cameras. Nick was a model before working in the corporate world and left his job at a software company in 2016 after joining season 3 of Bachelor In Paradise (2011-current). He’s taking acting lessons and wants to become an actor after he’s done with reality TV.

Family comes first though – Nick 2

has 10 brothers and sisters and says that “our parents Chris and Mary have been married for 37 years. They are our relationship standard”.

Before this season of The Bachelor 3

started, Nick got advice from pals and former Bachelors Chris Soules and Ben Higgins (seasons 19 and 20).“I was sceptical at first but they prepped me well for what’s coming,” laughs Nick.

Not that he has a good history – 4

Nick was voted “the most obnoxious” student at his high school in 1999 and was the villain in both his appearances of The Bachelorette.

Nick’s no fool though – he earned 5

his degree in business administration from the University Of Wisconsin in 2004 and has added about $250 000 (R3.3 million) to his networth.
