Ed’s letter
There’s no such thing as a dull moment when you’re working in TV or at tvplus. A peaceful Wednesday afternoon can change in a single phonecall – Mzansi Magic’s Isibaya (see more on p10) invited us to an “exciting, top-secret” filming session the next day. And they weren’t kidding – guns, speeding taxis and kidnappings… definitely not the worst way to spend a morning, plus we got access to behind-the-scenes action that you’d never see on TV. Did you know that to fly the drone for aerial shots requires a specialised R360 000 licence? That’s not the only action and drama in this issue of tvplus – e.tv is welcoming How To Get Away With Murder (I love the twists in this show) and Chicago PD to its line-up (see more on p34 & 36), while Black Sails’ season 3 is bringing Blackbeard to SA shores… literally and figuratively, since it’s filmed in Cape Town!
