Here’s what’s happening as High Rollers comes to an end.
High Rollers Mondays-Wednesdays SABC3 (*193) 19:30
All bets are off and casino-themed soapie High Rollers’ (2013-2017) final episode airs on Monday 27 March following the SABC’s cancellation last year. While the channel was going to cut the show short, they will now air all of the remaining episodes and we know what’s coming…
Kings Casino exec Jakes (Thapelo Xaba) is fighting Frank (Irvine van der Merwe) for control, but he won’t be getting help from his “mentor” Denton ( Terence Bridgett), says publicist Selai Ralarala. “Jakes was Denton’s mole at Kings Casino until September when Jakes fell for Thandi (Nqobile Nunu Khumalo). Frank is jealous of Denton and Jakes’s bond now that Frank works at Thandi. Denton’s Queen Of Hearts casino and Frank confronts Denton on Tuesday 21 March. “There’ll be a standoff between Denton, Frank, Jakes and Pam and someone will die,” hints Selai.
TAKING A BACK SEAT
Analine (Rolanda Marais) won’t be back. She’s still overseas, while Rolanda was on maternity leave during final filming in November 2016. Ben ( Vilje Maritz) wants to become a player manager at Kings on Wednesday 15 March but his family, including his dad Paul (Justin Strydom), who’s the casino COO, aren’t supportive of his new career path. Player manager Dhanny (Mayuri Naidu) isn’t happy that Ben’s after her job on Tuesday 21 March. Kings security expert Pam (Kate Normington) pushes Frank to go after Jakes on Wednesday 22 March. Casino CEO Busi (Jo-Ann Reyneke) forms an alliance with CFO David (Antony Coleman) on Monday 27 March now that Thandi is an official board member and owns the casino land. And lastly, TT (Fezile Mpela) tells his daughter Thandi to take more responsibility on 27 March, like accepting Jakes’s marriage proposal.
It’s over for Paul, David and TT.
