Bad boys in uniform

Cop show Blue Bloods is returning from an extended break with more police drama.

Blue Bloods Season 7 Wednesdays (from 3 May) M-Net (*101) 20:30

It’s been over five months since we last saw Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) and his crew of policemen and women defending the streets of New York in Blue Bloods (2010- current). but the good news is that they’re back on the beat after DStv shuffled the show around and the rest of season 7 promises more action than previously. “I’m not tired of it. I don’t think any of the actors are,” Tom says. “We love this writing and filming and I said when I started all those years ago, this is a special show. And it’s getting better.”

BOBBIES ON THE BEAT

So who’s going to keep the squad busy? In episode 10 (the first episode back after the break), Frank puts his differences aside with religious leader Reverend Potter (Ato

Essandoh) when the reverend’s son is murdered. While the men have a tough time working side-by-side, “The guys find common-ground as fathers,” says Tom. “They are able to stop arguing while working on this case and searching for the killer.” It’s not just police work though – in episode 11 (10 May), Eddie and Jamie (Vanessa Ray and Will Estes) walk into a brick wall with their adoption plans and Jamie asks his District Attorney sister Erin (Bridget Moynahan) for help when it goes to court.

CASE (AND SHOW) CLOSED?

There were rumours in season 6 that lead star Tom was leaving but he signed on for season 7. The gossips have started again that Tom’s leaving after the season wraps but it’s already been renewed for an eighth run. “People are always talking,” says Tom. “When I have something to say, I will say it. Until then, it’s business as usual and like I’ve said before, I’m not tired of Frank.” NB! See more on p7.
