Brother vs brother
Liam and Wyatt repeat Bold & Beautiful history as they fight a tug of war over Steffy’s heart.
Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) is free from his weird amnesia dreamworld of playing Adam to cuckoo kidnapper Quinn’s (Rena Sofer) Eve. And he’s out to reclaim the (current) love of his life Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). But he’s in for a shock on Friday 12 May when Steffy admits that she’s married. Liam immediately orders Steffy to “fix it” with an annulment. And he’s beside himself on Monday 15 May when Steffy admits that she promised her life to Liam’s brother Wyatt (Darin Brooks). “None of this should have happened!” he yells. “You can’t want to be with my brother, not now that you know the truth. Do you understand that my whole life was wiped out – every single memory erased, except for you?” And when Steffy doesn’t go “Oh, alright then” and dump Wyatt after Liam grabs and kisses her, it looks like Bold fans are in for a long and bitter battle.
GIVE HER BACK!
Bill (Don Diamont) can see what’s coming between his sons and he warns Liam on Tuesday 16 May, “It may not seem fair but you have to respect their marriage”. Wyatt is as sympathetic to his brother’s pain as he can be but warns Liam, “It’s done. She loves me and I love her. And we’re all going to have to find a way to just move forward.” Liam might not enjoy fighting but he insists to Wyatt that as far as he’s concerned, those vows are worthless. “The only reason you got anywhere close to Steffy is because of your lunatic mother (Quinn), because she held me captive so you could get together. Steffy married you because she thought that I would never come home. Well, I’m home. And I’m here to take back what’s mine!”
STEFFY IN THE MIDDLE
As Liam and Wyatt’s fight continues on Wednesday 17 May with more yelling and dirtier accusations, Steffy feels trapped by her sincere vows to Wyatt and her real feelings for Liam, both of which are being trashed by the men she loves. Wyatt drags Steffy off to get their wedding ring tattoos on Friday 19 May and when Wyatt tells his wife, “I know your commitment to me. We need to lock this puppy down and seal it in ink,” it turns a perfectly in- character way for Steffy to celebrate getting hitched into something more like Wyatt staking his claim on her body. Liam can’t miss it and when he leans in to kiss Steffy’s hand on Monday 22 May, he sneeringly calls the tattoo “Quinn’s greatest triumph”.
SIBLING SQUABBLING
We’ve been here before – and not just when Liam and Wyatt fought over who would marry their previous “true love” Hope (Kim Matula) in mid-2015. The boys should take a long, hard look at the Forrester brothers whose rivalry ruined everything. Thorne (Winsor Harmon) married his big brother Ridge’s (then Ronn Moss) fiancée Caroline Spencer (Joanna Johnson) in 1988, then shot Ridge in the head for raping a passed-out drunk Caroline. In 1997, Thorne got engaged to Ridge’s on-again, offagain love Taylor (Hunter Tylo) while Ridge was in jail and he got her to pretend that she was carrying his baby, not Ridge’s. Thorne then had an affair with Ridge’s ex-wife Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) in 1999, but Ridge wrecked the pair’s 2001 marriage by tricking Brooke into admitting that Ridge was the real love of her life. If Liam and Wyatt don’t watch out, they’ll also end up working oceans apart just to keep the peace.
