Weekdays SABC3 18:30 Soapie Bold (1987-current) is all about secret babies right now. And their message? The truth always comes out and as the Avants are about to discover, when it does it brings pain and trouble. Nicole (Reign Edwards) has a real cheek when she asks Sasha (Felisha Cooper) to back off from her boyfriend, Nicole’s ex Zende (Rome Flynn), on Wednesday 24 May so that he’ll go back to Nicole. So we don’t blame Sasha for using shock tactics when she snaps to her ex-best friend that she is Nicole’s biological sister. It’s a game changer for Nicole, and instead of rejecting Sasha and calling her a liar, she hugs her and goes to confront the real problem: their father Julius (Obba Babatundé).
DIRTY DAD
Julius can huff and puff as much as he likes but after years of watching him lie about and reject Nicole’s sister Maya (Karla Mosley), Nicole knows who the real liar is. “Nicole’s issue is with Julius,” says Reign. “He had an affair and made Sasha lie about being his daughter ever since she was a little girl. He rejected both Maya and Sasha, so it’s like Nicole, who grew up being very lonely, lost two sisters in life. Then there’s the horrible pain that this betrayal causes Nicole’s mom Vivienne (Anna Maria Horsford) on Friday 26 May. It couldn’t be more heart-breaking.” And none of the Avant women will feel sympathetic when Julius whines today (Tuesday 30 May) about how hard they’ve made his life.
