How does Isidingo manage to have current events like the recent Black Coffee/Aka saga on the show so quickly?

It boils down to hard work, says ex-Isidingo (1998- current) headwriter Rohan Dickson. “They choose news that happens the day before or the night before. Then the writers will wake-up at 04:00 and script the scene. The script is signed- off by 05:30 and it’s sent to set. It will get shot first thing and the scene is sent at speed to the SABC buildings where it’s edited and added to the episode. NB! See p19.
