McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) and Danno (Scott Caan) are turning up the action in season 7 of Hawaii Five- 0 (2010- current). “I had a month of drinking through Europe,” teases Alex, “but it’s time for the fun stuff. There will be some bromance.” Steve and Danno are blood brothers after Danno donated a chunk of his liver in the season 6 finale (July 2016) when McGarrett was shot. “Danno’s going to be reminding Steve all the time, ‘I saved your life. You owe me!’” laughs Alex. Steve’s partner isn’t the only one keeping him busy though…
WOMENLY WOES
Episode 7 (11 July) is the show’s 150th and it’s a big celebration, says Alex. “Many shows don’t get this far or to bring characters back this far in.” He’s talking about Steve’s CIA agent mom Doris (Christine Lahti), who’s in trouble after a mission goes wrong. Alex adds that “Steve’s also got to deal with his agent ex Catherine (Michelle Borth). He wants to leave the two of them to sort out their issues while he’s upstairs [Laughs].”
COOL CAMEOS
Who wouldn’t want a trip to Hawaii for work? Not these guest stars… Marshal Wes Lincoln (Lou Diamond Phillips, Henry in action series Longmire, 2012- current) gets in the Five- 0’s way in episode 14 (29 August) while they hunt a murderer. PI Harry Brown ( William Forsythe, Manny in period drama Boardwalk Empire, 2010-2014) is searching for a businessman’s kidnapped wife in episode 20 (10 Oct) but he’s not telling the team everything he knows about the case… And in episode 24 (7 Nov), the Five- 0 squad lend a hand to reformed art thief Gerard Hirsch ( Willie Garson, Mozzie in action show White Collar, 2009-2014) with his new venture: cleaning crime scenes.
