Dramedy This Is Us (2016current) follows the Pearsons through three stages of their lives: pre-triplets, eight-year- old triplets and current- day adult triplets.
Five things to know:
1 Jack and Rebecca (Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore) celebrated Jack’s birthday in episode 1 (29 May) with Rebecca in labour, but one baby died.
2 In episode 1’s present day, adopted “triplet” Randall (Sterling K Brown) searches for his birth father who gave him up as a newborn on the day his brother and sister were born.
3 Also in episode 1, triplet Kevin (Justin Hartley – Adam in soapie Y&R, see p29) tried to quit his unsatisfying sitcom The Manny, while overweight triplet Kate (Chrissy Metz) swore to lose weight.
4 In episode 2 (5 June), Kevin and Randall’s childhood fights explain their present- day fighting.
5 Also in episode 2’s present, Rebecca visits Randall with second husband Miguel (Jon Huertas) – Jack’s best friend.
