The jealous cupid
Pretty stabs Eunice in the back and steals Nimrod’s heart.

Turfloop High’s resident mean girl Pretty Seakamela (Lerato Marabe) has been having a ball playing cupid in the corridors, especially with her timid friend Eunice (Oratile Maitisa). Pretty convinced her pal to go after “it- guy” Nimrod (Buhle Maseko) in early June and they hit it off immediately… and that’s now a problem for Pretty, who was expecting her friend to be left with egg on her face. Pretty realises on Wednesday 21 June that she wants Nimrod after “she sees his tender side and how he is with Eunice,” says Lerato, adding that “Pretty now thinks that she has more in common with Nimza than Eunice. She visits him that same day and kisses him!” Pretty is jealous of her friend but she doesn’t care, says Lerato. “She’s putting her friendship on the line to get the guy.”
THE BOY’S MINE
With her heart and scheming head in competition, Pretty pretends that nothing happened when she bumps into Eunice at school on Friday 23 June. “But Eunice already knows all about the kiss. She doesn’t tell Pretty how she found out and the girls start arguing,” says Lerato. The childhood besties have never fought before and the last thing anyone would expect is for it to be about a boy! While Pretty feels responsible for starting Eunice and Nimrod’s romance, she believes that she has the power to end to it too, suggests Lerato. “Pretty isn’t even willing to hear Eunice out. She refuses to feel bad for kissing Nimza and tells her friend that it’s not her fault that he likes her too,” says Lerato. “It’s not like Eunice and Nimza are in an official relationship anyway.”
FRIEND OR FOE
Eunice loses her temper but instead of slapping her friend, she’s going to get even on Monday 26 June. She tells people that Pretty kissed her boyfriend and steps back as the rumour develops. “Soon everyone’s saying that Pretty is sleeping with Nimza,” explains Lerato. She finds out on Tuesday 27 June and “Pretty isn’t a loose girl and doesn’t want people lying about her,” Lerato explains. She can’t ask Eunice to help her, so she turns to Nimza on Tuesday 27. While he agrees to help clear her name, he wants nothing to do with her and hints that she should apologise to Eunice. Lerato says, “That’s a big ask, to admit she was wrong. But…”
