Los Angeles enforcer Ray (Liev Schreiber) is punching his way back onto free TV as season 2 of Ray Donovan (2013- current) kicks off. And he’s not the only one getting back to their routine after season 1 ended with Boston hitman Sully (James Wood) being shot dead. “Ray is a different man than the one we encountered in the first season,” says Liev. “He was surefooted but he’s gone through a tremendous amount since that time. He is at rock bottom. He’s been there a few times [Laughs], but this is a very important time for him.” And a lot of important things are happening to the people around Ray too.

DOING IT DONOVAN-STYLE

Donovan half-brother Daryll 1 (Pooch Hall, Derwin in football dramedy The Game, 2006-2015) feels cheated in episode 7 (2 August) when

Mickey gives away the Cadillac that Daryll had wanted since he was 12.

Dodgy dad Mickey (Jon Voight, 2

Troubled-wife Abby (Paula Mal3

comson, Maureen Ashby in biker drama Sons Of Anarchy, 2008-2014) is a day- drinking cheating mess by episode 9 (16 August).

Fixer Ray has his hands full. He’s 4

trying to keep Mickey under control, doublecross the FBI in episode 5 (19 July) and also figure out what Abby is up to when she disappears and leaves their kids home alone.

Ray’s boxing trainer brother Terry 5

(Eddie Marsan, Mr Norrell in fantasy miniseries Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, 2015) is obsessed with his nurse who’s treating him for Parkinson’s and having an affair with him.

And Ray’s sexually abused, alco6

holic younger brother Bunchy (Dash Mihok, Detective Flass in sci-fi show Gotham, 2015- current) panics in episode 6 (26 July) when his singlemom girlfriend puts him a tricky position with her young son. NB! See more on p45.
