Broken-hearted businesswoman Sonti (Pearl Maimela) needs to face her past. She took the first bus back to Turfloop after her crook ex-boyfriend Lehasa (Cedric Fourie) blindsided her and stole her company in June 2017 and Pearl says that “she is devastated! She feels lost and didn’t see her life taking such a downward spiral”.

Sonti’s sister Mapitsi (Mogau Motlhatswi) has good intentions and phones Sonti’s ex-boyfriend Babeile (Matthews Manamela) on Wednesday 5 July. “Sonti finds the good-guy cop in her lounge on Thursday 6 July but doesn’t handle it well,” says Pearl. “She’s angry because she told Mapitsi that she doesn’t want to see him,” especially because he’s got a number of questions for her after their break-up earlier this year.

There’s nowhere for Sonti to hide on Friday 7 July. “Babeile wants closure, he needs to understand why Sonti left him for another man,” says Pearl, but Sonti doesn’t know how to react, so she gives him a limp apology. Babeile was ready to start a new life with Sonti as his wife in February 2017 but “she wasn’t ready to get married,” adds the actress. “She wanted adventure and excitement but she didn’t think that Lehasa would hurt her like he did.”

Babeile knows what’s coming and stops Sonti before she can even ask for a second chance. “He was hurt when she dumped him and he doesn’t want that hurt again,” explains Pearl. That’s the last-gasp chance for Sonti and she packs her bags later that day, ready to leave Turfloop and her love-life in her rear-view mirrors. “It’s her last scene for now,” says Pearl. “But I’m certain that she will be back!” Pearl is taking a break after a hectic few months of shooting but hasn’t left.
