SHOWS RENEWED

-

• British reality show Strictly Come Dancing (2004-current) is giving its talent pool an overhaul ahead of season 15 in September this year. Three new professional dancers will replace Joanne Clifton, Oksana Platero and Natalie Lowe, while head judge Len Goodman is also leaving. • While e.tv has chosen not to renew its contract with soapie Y&R (1973-current; see p29), the show has been given a renewal in the US up until 2018’s season. While there are no plans for e.tv to bring the soapie back, it can’t be counted out given what happened on SABC3 with Days. • Popular panel show The Talk (2010-current) has received an order for season 8, although it will be without one of its celeb hosts. Aisha Tyler will be leaving due to other commitments (like hosting Whose Line Is It Anyway, 2013-current), while her co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sheryl Underwood and Sharon Osbourne will be staying on. • Dark cop drama Luther (2010-current) will be getting a fifth season after a four-year hiatus. Lead star Idris Elba confirmed the season in an interview, adding that it will be a “short season too – only four episodes at the moment”. The season, which could be the last, is expected to start filming in early 2018, with a 2019 release date.
