The return of the Queen
Sihle has returned to the valley and she’s in a pot-stirring mood.

The last that viewers saw of Queen Sihle (Zinhle Mabena) was in January 2017 when she was thrown in jail for plotting to poison Queen Mother Qondi (Jessica Nkosi). King Zweli (Andile Gumbi) chose to teach his wife a lesson and left her in jail… until July, when she returned to the kingdom to repent for her sins. But that’s not all, teased Zinhle when we talked to her. “Sihle is back to take what’s rightfully hers!” laughs Zinhle.
What were you doing while on your break? I was pregnant while filming the scenes of Sihle going to jail, so when she was locked away, I went to have my baby girl [Laughs]. It’s hard work having a child but it is very fulfilling. Now I am back on set and I have to juggle my career as well as being a mother. It was overwhelming at first but I’m so happy to have the best of both worlds. And your character is going to be a mother too! Yes, Sihle’s pregnant as well, which should make for a very interesting and troubled storyline. Plus, her memory is returning and she’s having flashbacks of who she was and what she did. [Her memory was supernaturally wiped out just before she was arrested]. So will she be as power-hungry and venge-ful as before? I can assure you that Sihle loves being a queen! But she hates not being appreciated by the people of the kingdom. Her time locked up has left her hardened and street-wise. She knows how to handle things now and she isn’t afraid to go after what she wants. She’s going to overpower characters who aren’t strong! Is she going back to the royal home? Sihle is head- over-heels in love with Zweli despite him wanting nothing to do with her. Sihle just wants to make things right with her husband the king and hopefully their [unborn] son can be a part of that. Was getting back into character like slip-ping on a pair of comfy slippers? It’s was! It’s great to be back – I took a “holiday” and now I’m back with my family. It was so easy to get back into Sihle’s shoes, as though I’d never left her to start with.
