After a genuinely heart-breaking first night of marriage for Boniswa that saw her lying awake in another room as her husband consummated his marriage with Yvonne, it’s time to lay down the law. Yvonne’s honeymoon bliss is rudely interrupted when Boniswa tells her to get up and make breakfast for everyone on Wednesday 19 July. “Yvonne is walking into Boniswa’s territory, so Boniswa tells her, ‘If you come here you be a good girl, you obey my rules and you be second wife because that’s what you are. You’ll never be the real wife,” reveals Lusanda.
As for Siseko, Boniswa has a message for him too: “He’s brought this into the household, so it doesn’t really matter what he wants now,” jokes Lusanda. “Boniswa tells him, ‘I’m just the wife who’s trying to make things work and clean up your mess. I’m going to keep what we have worked for together, to keep our kids together, our money that we worked for. You can do what it is that you want to do with her but she must obey the rules. And actually, you had better side with me on everything because I will always be the wife.”
Yvonne is prepared to blow it all off and arrange a big party on Tuesday 25 July. But to her horror Siseko backs up Boniswa on Monday 31 July when she warns Yvonne that if she doesn’t behave herself, she’ll be packed off to go live in Bisho like a naughty schoolgirl! NB! See more on p22.
